Salomon Trail Running Shorts

September 5, 2010 equipment Comments

Visit Salomon website

I really like these shorts, they combine what I love. A tight compression legging and a short over the top that will not bunch up in the crotch. I have wanted something like this and I just found it – very cool. Could be great for The North Face Endurance Challenge in December.

Formigli Crono

May 13, 2010 Bike Porn, equipment Comments

Interesting looking bikes but really need more pictures to understand how it would be to ride and what the air flow over the frame is like for time trialing or triathlon. Bit hard to gauge the rear wheel cutout from the photo.

This is what they look with a good set of bars and race wheel on, and in green!

Their website says:
Designed and engineered with a specific geometry to perform with maximum aerodynamic out and traction, the Crono is the ideal frame for triathletes and time trialists where every second on the clock makes a difference. The frame is offered in four sizes, and can be set up with the best suited position for the rider. Its monocoque construction ensures maximum stiffness, nimble control, but also that it holds a line. The Crono will get you to the finish line faster.

The race went well, As I jumped in off the boat someone jump behind me hitting my left leg. This only become an issue on the run and after the race.
The swim went well, good sighting resulting a much faster swim.

The bike was hard, and the run tough too, I managed to push to the end and was spent at the finish. Solid race, very happy with the results.

Ridley Bike Porn + HED

This is one hot looking bike, the aggressive angle and the nice cockpit with some nice fast wheels on it, cool.

Welcome to HED Cycling
Ridley Bikes

Thinking about how it will be very hot in Hawaii, I need to think about what I will be wearing and try to have as much white gear as possible so that it reflects the sun’s heat.

So these shoes are a good thought, they are white, tri specific and will work with any cleat system, so I wouldn’t need to change my cleats.

Buy them here : http://www.sbrshop.com

I just came across this and I think it’s the ultimate review of the Garmin 310 XT – it’s very in-depth and at time overly but I love that about the review too much is great. And heaps of pictures also.

Read it for your self here http://dcrainmaker.blogspot.com

He even takes it on a plane and records the journey, now that’s cool :-)

He says “Basically my rule of thumb is – if it takes less time to fly to Europe than it does to complete the race, it’s no longer a short race. ”

Run with a group of 10, tough start with 1.5miles of climbing, hard hard, had to be careful of my back after pulling muscles on Friday.

The Suffer Fest video for warm up then full 1hr Tri Spin class, straight to a fast brick run. The suffer fest was fun, the run was tough. I started the run behind the group, I could just see them disappear round the corner as I started, it took 1.5 miles to catch and pass them. It was tough to stay ahead for the next 1.5 mile but did it.

Distance was slightly longer as the GPS didn’t start counting from the start. It was a loop so the finish was correct but the start was late.
