Sponsorship can take many forms, from a logo on t-shirts to race gear, to logos or a design on the deep wheels that are used at the big races to paint jobs for the helmet and bike. I have raced a range of distances from 1/2 marathons, marathons, ultra marathons to the Ford Ironman World Championships at Kona, Hawaii. As a result I have tried many products and think it’s vital to continue to look for advantages and real benefits in the products you wear, ride, run, swim and use.
When an athlete spends 99% of their athletic time training and only 1% racing – what is used in training is what others see, it’s the products that get exposure to real consumers. There are only a few competitive athletes as my gym, but many others that see what we do, they glimpse a small part of our training. These are the real customers that are training for no particular race; they are training for life.
